The LTE Detach procedure is the reverse of attach, cleanly deregistering the UE and releasing all associated network resources. UE-initiated detach occurs when the subscriber powers off the phone, removes the USIM card, or enables airplane mode. The UE sends a Detach Request to the MME, which then coordinates the teardown of all active bearers by sending Delete Session Request messages to the SGW and PGW. This orderly cleanup ensures that GTP tunnels and IP addresses are freed immediately.
